Obiettivi formativi

The CSDP Common Module aims to:

a. Provide participants with a common broad understanding of CSDP. In particular, participants will be exposed to the European integration historical foundations, to its core values, current institutional framework and policies, as well as actors and processes.

b. Enhance the young officer’s ability to work together with his consorts from other Member States.

c. Provide European initial military educational establishments a recognized curricula to allow young offircers to follow the same module in another Member State.

General description and Organization

 

1. Starting situation. Participants are cadets/students/young military officers with some previous basic knowledge about the European Union, its history and its structure.

 

2. Cognitive Objectives. At the end of the course the participant will be able to:

- Openly act actively contribute when in the EU international environment;

- Demonstrate understanding of the contributions made by EU institutions involved in CSDP;

- Explain the strategic objectives and the impact on the European Union of the European Security Strategy.

- Summarize the decision making process that leads to operations/missions.

- List recent ESDP missions and operations.

- Debate the importance of EU relations with its major partners (UN, NATO, AU, Russia, .).
