Obiettivi formativi
Main goals are to know, recognize and manage the following processes:
- The three military revolutions: All-Volunteer Force, Crises Response Operations, Cultural diversity and flexibility in military personnel. Adaptation and change processes within Military organizations, with reference to Asymmetric Conflicts and Counterinsurgency.
• Cultural diversity in CROs.
• Family and gender relations in the Military - Authority, power and leadership in military organisations. The various
leadership styles; leadership and diversity of leaderships styles according
to different cultures
These subjects are particularly relevant for military organisation, in WAR as well as in CRO-Crises Response Operations contexts and to understand armed forces and society relationships.

Risultati dell'apprendimento attesi
1. Knowledge and understanding. To know the most important changes that has taken place in the Military Organization. To know the difference between power and authority, the different leadership styles and how they change in the different cultures.
2. Capacity to apply knowledge and understanding. Ability to apply the social tools of organizations study to Military Organization. Ability to change the leadership style in the
different situations and cultures.3. Ability in making judgments. The course aims to develop a critic approach to the analysis of the Military organization and the leadership stimulating the comparison among different analytical perspectives.
4. Communication abilities. Abilities to give correct descriptions of social phenomenon and processes concerning the Military Organizations and the leadership.
5. Learning abilities. Ability to develop useful sociological knowledge about organizations and

The course is offered as an on-line course, exams are anyway written and in presence.
Since it is possible to chose this course after having passed the 6 credit exam in Military Sociology and Leadership (in presence or online), IT IS NECESSARY TO CONTACT THE TEACHER FOR PROGRAMME SELECTION AND APPROVAL, in order to avoid topics duplication.
